Major Responsibilities
The Bilingual Customer Service Specialist is responsible for answering
calls from our
subscribers, providers, and others who have questions about insurance
coverage, benefits,
claims, etc. In addition, the Customer Service Specialist follows up
and researches any
unresolved inquiries. The position is in a call center environment where
call volumes
fluctuate. Performance is measured based on combination of quality,
timeliness, and
availability to the customer. Acts as initial service contact for BCBSNC
customers and
providers. Accurately receives, researches, and resolves customer/provider
inquiries.
If an inquiry cannot be resolved at point of contact, tracks the inquiry
to completion through
the appropriate departments.
The goal of the Customer Service Specialist is to be proactive about
providing consistent,
reliable customer service experiences, and to promote the retention
of the customer base.
Requirements:
• Must be fluent speaking in Spanish and English.
• Must be able to start April 14, 2008.
•High school graduate or GED with 1 year call center experience
or High school graduate or
GED with 2 years customer service experience or Bachelors Degree
• Must be able to work an 8 hour shift.
• Must be able to attend the required Customer Service Training.
• Demonstrated proficiency operating a computer with Windows based
navigation.

• Must be dependable, organized, and flexible.
• Claims processing and claims coding knowledge preferred.
