Our Phoenix practice has an immediate opening for a Histotechnologist I.
QUALIFICATIONS
*Must have an A.A. or A.S. or equivalent training and experience;
*HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP);
*One - three years Histology experience;
*Previous histology and/or surgical gross experience is preferred;
*Able to work 9 pm 5:30 am; and
*Must be flexible, dependable, work well under pressure, and have a positive attitude.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Duties and Responsibilities:
*Performs routine and non-routine activities involved in the preparation of slides for microscopic evaluation by pathologist(s), according to policies and procedures
*Ensures proper accessioning and labeling of all tissue samples
*Processes paperwork associated with accessioning and reporting
*Ensures proper tissue processing
*Embeds processed tissue in paraffin*Performs microtomy of embedded tissue
*Prepares slides for routine Hematoxylin and Eosin staining
*Performs coverslipping of stained slides either manually or automated
*Prepares solutions and reagents for special stain procedures
*Obtains and validates tissue used in special stains
*Performs all special stain procedures
*May prepare solutions and reagents for IHC procedures
*May obtain and validate control material used in IHC procedures
*May perform IHC testing
*May perform gross tissue examination
